About Who I Am
Yes, but I do not think it is sensible to ask for someone’s private medical documentation. I happen to be comfortable being open on the subject, but I do not think this is fair to expect of others.
People are entitled to medical privacy and that decision should be respected
I love my parents. They did the best that they could with the resources that they had at the time. They are human and made plenty of mistakes, too.
We’re working to accommodate our differences and better work together in Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (CPS) approach-based family therapy. We were able to do this by finding a Neurodiversity Affirming provider who was willing to receive the CPS training.
I am grateful for the changes these resources have brought to our family dynamic.
Due to being denied speech accommodations I directly requested in Elementary and Middle School, I developed coping mechanisms that allowed me to utilize mouth words. Unfortunately, these coping mechanism left me with what is called Insufficient and Unreliable Speech.
I now use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to accommodate these communicational differences whenever I am able to in a variety of ways.
There are many reasons to sigh; relief, exasperation, a drop in blood pressure. It destigmatizes me being expressive. I can be taken as I am.
My neurology, like most, is mixed. I was born Neurodivergent (Demand Avoidant Autistic/ADHD) and have acquired Neurodivergencies (anxiety and trauma-responses) as well.
